Field of honor 2042 players are joining XP farming servers only to discover that they're the crops

Update: Cube temporarily disabled XP in custom Battlefield Portal servers before the weekend, so the XP farms have mostly disappeared for in real time. (I did see one still loss, even though atomic number 102 one's getting whatsoever XP from it.)
Original story: Field Portal is a joyride for creating, hosting, and discovering custom game modes in Battlefield 2042. You hind end make silly stuff, like 1v64 or knives-only modes, or complex deathmatch variants, or classic Battlefield throwbacks—OR you rear end do what everyone who's currently hogging totally the Portal waiter capacity is doing and make XP farming modes.
Information technology's frustrating to see a potentially cool custom server tool around dominated by bot matches studied for grinding XP, but while investigating the issue, I ascertained that a beautiful thing is natural event: Players are connection XP agriculture servers hoping to rack up attachment unlocks, but are instead discovering that they're the XP being farmed.
I've seen string section of players type "/triggerman," apparently hoping that the command will give them a gun. IT does non.
XP farming servers are often entrap with a small anthropomorphic squad fighting a big team of bots who are cursed to spawn with a sliver of health each. To give you a sense of what that looks equivalent, below is a gif of me spawn camping bots at the cease of a PvE Rush gibe. It's a sad sight, simply these Artificial insemination dudes are at to the lowest degree armed. In near XP farming servers, the bot team ISN't even allowed to have guns.
After that PvE massacre, I started joining servers expressly labelled as 'XP farming' servers to try to find out just how much XP players are really acquiring from this. Cube tweeted earlier that it "deployed a change to Battlefield Portal that impacts the effectiveness of XP Agriculture Servers," so presumably it's not a lot. I'm not sure yet, though, because I'm always the one being farmed.
Most of these farming servers are set up thus that players can keep joining even after the itty-bitty team intended for humans is full. That puts most players connected the big bot team: unarmed fodder for the XP farmers, who I'm for sure are delighted to have human targets link the Artificial intelligence horde.
What's really funny is that non everyone leaves after discovering that only when a handful of players in the server are XP farming and they aren't one of them. I've cragfast around and watched players urgently lam at their tormentors with knives over and over again. Someplace on the line, a rumor must've started that typing "/switch" operating room "/swapteam" into gossip puts you on the other team, because there's a destiny of that. IT does non work. I've also seen string section of players type "/gun," apparently hoping that the command will give them a gun. It does not.
Gamers are like those Pisces that smush their mouths against the sides of aquariums to absorb up algae, but for XP. We just love XP, and if we think we've found a modality where we backside easily vacuum it into our tubular stomachs, we'll tie our faces to that mode and turn down to leave. That behavior seems to glucinium the cause of the hole that is Hepatic portal vein right directly: The fewer actual XP farmers are probably hitting the Portal XP cap pretty quickly, and everyone else is antimonopoly being shot by XP farmers. I don't reckon how that's a healthier way to mother XP than just playacting Battlefield 2042's normal Conquest musical mode, just this is what XP suckers do. And it's a bit risible.
In larger Battlefield 2042 news, some players are disappointed by the lack of worldwide claver, voice Old World chat, and a traditional scoreboard. I miss the old scoreboard, too, although I'm compliant to give Die's attempt to further teamwork a fair shake American Samoa I puzzle out on our review. I'm also seeing complaints that dishonor rifles are wildly inaccurate at range, which is true, although it has smitten me as a way to distinguish ARs from LMGs and crack shot rifles, which so often feel care novelty picks compared to all-purpose assault weapons. Something for me to chew on as I unlock attachments (away playing normally).
Other of DICE's decisions are winning a beating happening the subreddit, but the response is par for even a good Field of battle launch so far, so I'm going to continue evaluating things at my own pace before I put back my thoughts into a last review.
Incidental to this issue, we are impermanent to relieve in the lead more Servers for #Battlefield Portal📑 If you're sightedness a 'Global Pun Quota Exceeded' we're aware of the issueThanks for your patience. Teams all over information technology 🛠 pic.twitter.com/O4VqwNGcokNovember 12, 2021
I go for I can host a Portal server soon, though, because it remains the branch of Battlefield 2042 that I'm most involved in. Right now, I get a "Worldwide Game Quota Exceeded" error when I try to bulge out up a custom gage of my own, which Die has acknowledged is in part referable every last the infinite taken dormie by farmland. The studio said earlier that IT's working to "free of leading" more than servers for Portal.
At least I canful consider comfort in the knowledge that about of those attempting to grow XP are being harvested for it alternatively.
